The Seward Police Department is once again teaming up with the Seward Wal-Mart Supercenter and Dollar General this holiday season with the “Stuff the Cruiser Toy Drive 2007”. Seward Police Officers will have a police cruiser out at the Seward Wal-Mart on December 14th and 15th from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM on both days. We will also have a cruiser in front of Dollar General on Dec. 17th from 11 AM to 1:00 PM (a donation area in Dollar General will also be established). We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls from the age of newborn to 12 years old. These toys will then be given to underprivileged children of Seward County at a Christmas party for them at the Seward Police Department the weekend before Christmas. Last year thanks to the generosity of the Seward Wal-Mart, Dollar General and all of those who donated gifts, their time and monetary donations, over 120 children in Seward County benefited from this program.
Any families who think they will have difficulties in purchasing toys for their children age’s newborn to 12 years old are encouraged to call the Seward Police Department at 643-2579. Organizations that wish to donate to this worthwhile cause can also contact the Seward Police Department.
